Gert Steegmans (Quick Step) wygrał klasyk Nokere-Koerse. Belgijski sprinter pokonał Stefana Van Dijk (Veranda Willems Accent) oraz Graeme`a Browna (Rabobank). Najlepiej z Polaków wypadł Michał Gołaś (Vacansoleil-DCM), który zajął 23. miejsce. Z kolei najlepszym kolarzem CCC Polsat Polkowice został Sylwester Janiszewski, plasując się na 24. lokacie.
Steegmans został zmuszony w ubiegłym tygodniu do wycofania się na 4. etapie Paryż-Nicea z powodu przeziębienia, jednak podczas belgijskiego klasyku wszystko było już w porządku.
Zawodnicy rywalizowali dziś na trasie z Ronse do Nokere, która liczyła 195.9km. W ucieczkę dnia zabrało się czterech kolarzy: Michael Van Staeyen (Topsport Vlaanderen-Mercator), Guillaume Van Keirsbulck (Quick Step), Matthieu Ladagnous (FDJ) i Kenny Dehaes (Omega Pharma-Lotto). Mimo poważnych starań, kwartetowi nie udało się odjechać na więcej niż 2 minuty i 25 sekund, co spowodowało że czołówka została schwytana na 20 kilometrów przed metą.
Dzielny Dehaes próbował jeszcze kontry wraz z Gaetanem Bille (Wallonie Bruxelles-Crédit Agricole), Robem Goris (Verandas Willems-Accent) oraz Ronym Martias (Saur-Sojasun). Jednak i ta akcja trójki kolarzy została schwytana na 7 kilometrów przed kreską przez pociąg Katushy.
W finałowym sprincie najlepiej poradził sobie Steegmans, pokonując Holendra Van Djika oraz Australijczyka Browna. Michał Gołaś był 23, tuż za nim na 24. miejscu zameldował się Janiszewski.
Wyścig ukończyło jeszcze dwóch kolarzy CCC Polsat Polkowice: Bartłomiej Matysiak (87. miejsce), Tomasz Kiedyś (100).
