Pablo Urtasun (Euskaltel-Euskadi) wygrał 7. etap Tour of Britain. Liderem pozostał Jonathan Tiernan-Locke (Endura Racing), a znów aktywni byli Polacy.

Przedostatni dzień rywalizacji w wyścigu Dookoła Wielkiej Brytanii stał pod znakiem licznych ataków i akcji zaczepnych. Długo na trasie uciekali Polacy: Jacek Morajko (Vacansoleil-DCM) i Marcin Białobłocki (Node 4 – Giordana). Wraz z nimi również m.in zwycięzca jednego z etapów Marc De Maar (UnitedHealthcare), Ivan Basso (Liquigas), Samuel Sanchez i Pablo Urtasun (obaj Euskaltel-Euskadi)

Mocne tempo w peletonie nadawali zawodnicy Endura Racing, którzy przygotowywali grunt do ataku pod Jonathan`a Tiernana-Locke`a. Z liderem odjechał m.in Bartosz Huzarski (NetApp).

Porwała się również czołówka. Niestety w drugiej grupce znaleźli się Polacy.

Etap ostatecznie wygrał Pablo Urtasun, który wykorzystał pomoc swojego klubowego kolegi – Samuela Sancheza. Drugi był De Maar, a trzeci Basso.
