Pim Ligthart (Vacansoleil-DCM) pokonał towarzyszy z ucieczki i wygrał ostatni etap wyścigu Ster ZLM Toer, który padł łupem Larsa Booma (Blanco Pro Cycling). Michał Gołaś (Omega Pharma – Quick Step) dowiózł do mety 4. pozycję!
Ostatni odcinek Ster ZLM Toer, to płaski etap z Gerwen do Boxtel o długości 176,2 km. Zaraz po starcie utworzyła się ucieczka dnia w której kręcili: Pim Lightart (Vacansoleil-DCM), Yves Lampaert i Sven Vandousselaere (obaj Topsport Vlaanderen-Baloise), Sven Lammertink (Cycling Team Jo Piels), Arno Van der Zwet (Koga Cycling Team) oraz Brian van Goethem (Metec-TKH).
80 kilometrów przed metą, ich przewaga nad goniącą grupą wynosiła 3 minuty i 15 sekund. Współpraca w czołówce układała się, co zaowocowało tym, że jeszcze na 10 km przed ostateczną rozgrywką szóstka miała 55 sekund w zapasie nad pościgiem. Chwilę później pecha miał zwycięzca 2. etapu – Theo Bos (Blanco Pro Cycling), który złapał gumę.
Harcownicy nie poddawali się, jednak tempa nie wytrzymał młodziutki Lammertink i Holender został skasowany przez grupę, podczas gdy jego współtowarzysze ucieczki zdołali dojechać do mety przed peletonem! Najszybciej finiszował Pim Lightart.
Cały wyścig padł łupem Larsa Booma, a mistrz Polski – Michał Gołaś ostatecznie zajął 4. miejsce!
