Zwycięstwem Anthonego Turgisa zakończył się trzeci etap Skoda-Tour du Luxembourg. Liderem imprezy pozostał Maurits Lammertink.
Trzeci, najtrudniejszy etap wyścigu dookoła księstwa Luksemburgu liczył 177 kilometrów i prowadził z Eschweiler do Differdange. Trasa była niezwykle interwałowa, a na ostatnich 3 okrążeniach wokół miasta finiszowego, do pokonania był sławny podjazd pod Col de l’Europe.
Dość długo na czele nie mogła uformować się ucieczka dnia. Ostatecznie znaleźli się w niej Tosh Van der Sande (Lotto-Soudal), Loic Vliegen (BMC), Luke Durbridge (Orica-GreenEdge), Brice Feillu (Fortuneo-Vital Concept) i Mathias Brandle (IAM Cycling). Czołówka zdołała wypracować sobie nawet czterominutową przewagę, lecz przed wjazdem na rundy, zostało im już tylko półtorej minuty zapasu.
W końcówce, na czele wykrystalizowała się czteroosobowa grupka, która miała już duże szanse by dojechać do mety. Byli to Anthony Turgis (Cofidis), Chris Jull Jensen (Tinkoff), Mattias Frank (IAM) i Luis Angel Mate (Cofidis). To właśnie wymienieni zawodnicy w sprincie zmierzyli się o zwycięstwo etapowe. Najlepszy okazał się Turgis, który odniósł jeden z największych sukcesów w karierze. Liderem pozostał Maurits Lammertink (Roompot).
