Kenny Dehaes (Lotto Belisol) podczas masowego sprintu na mecie Handzame Classic zdobył już drugie zwycięstwo w sezonie.
196 kilometrowy klasyk z Bredene do Handzame rozgrywany był dopiero po raz trzeci. Wyścig charakteryzuje się trudną technicznie trasą. Po około 70 kilometrach zaatakowali: William Clarke (Argos-Shimano), Jonas Van Genechten (Lotto Belisol), Youcef Reguigui (MTN-Qhubeka), Sean De Bie (Leopard-Trek Continental Team) oraz Kess Heytens (Team 3M).
Sytuacje kontrolowały jednak ekipy NetApp Endura i Blanco Pro Cycling i harcownicy zostali skasowani na 10 km przed kreską. Później kilku zawodników próbowało jeszcze kontrować, jednak o wszystkim zadecydował finisz z dużej grupy.
Najlepszy okazał się Kenny Dehaes. Belg pokonał holenderski duet z Vacansoleil-DCM: Kenny`ego Roberta Van Hummela oraz Boy`a Van Poppela.
