W prawdziwie mistrzowskim stylu Thor Hushovd ( Garmin – Cervelo ) wygrywa 4 etap wyścigu dookoła Wielkiej Brytanii.
Dzisiejszy etap przebiegał pod dyktando trójki uciekinierów, Pietera Ghylleberta ( Post Sean Kelly ) – który wygrał wszystkie lotne finisze, Jacka Bauera ( Endura Racing) meldował się pierwszy na dwóch z trzech górskich premii, oraz Kristiana House ( Condor Rapha – Sharp ) który został wybrany za najaktywniejszego kolarza etapu i jutro wystartuje z czerwonym numerem.
Zespół Rabobank wraz z liderem przez większość etapu nie przejawiali ochoty do pościgu, na czele peletonu przeważnie było widać zawodników Team Sky oraz Leopard Trek.
Walka rozpoczeła się u podnóża Caerphill Mountain, błyskawicznie drużyna Leopard Trek skasowała ucieczkę ale jednocześnie porwała peleton w następstwie czego utworzyła się czołowa grupa 25 zawodników, którzy między sobą rozegrali finisz.
Wygrał Norweg – który potwierdza że tego typu końcówki są jego domeną i czuje się na nich jak ryba w wodzie. Drugi linię mety przejechał – bardzo czujny jak przystało na lidera wyścigu – Lars Boom ( Rabobank ), a trzeci Cesare Benedetti ( Team NetApp ).
Trzeba pochwalić nie tylko Benedettiego, ale również Bartosza Huzarskiego – przyjechał w czołowej grupie na 14 miejscu – jak również cały zespół w którym startuje Polak Team NetApp, oprócz wymienionego Włocha, dwóch innych kolegów Husara dojechało w czołówce.
Bardzo nas to cieszy, że Bartek utrzymuje wysoką formę przed zbliżającymi się Mistrzostwami Świata, które już za kilka dni rozpoczną się w Kopenhadze.
