Pieter Weening (Roompot – Charles) po ładnej akcji przyjechał tuż przed peletonem i wygrał drugi etap Skoda-Tour de Luxembourg. Liderem pozostał Christophe Laporte (Cofidis, Solutions Crédits).
Drugi etap wyścigu w Luksemburgu prowadził ze Steinfort do Rosport i liczył prawie 169 kilometrów. Główne trudności rozpoczynały się 40 kilometrów przed metą, gdzie usytuowane były do kreski trzy oznaczone podjazdy.
W odjazd zabrali się dziś: Konrad Geßner (Leopard Pro Cycling), Tobias Knaup (Team Lotto – Kern Haus) i Wesley Mol (Team Differdange – GeBa).
Dwa lotne finisze wygrał Geßner, ale peleton skasował ucieczkę już 40 kilometrów przed metą. Po pierwszym podjeździe duża grupa mocno się naciągnęła i co chwilę mieliśmy próby ataków, ale nie były one udane.
14 kilometrów przed metą na czele pojawili się: Joaquim Silva (W52 / FC Porto), Pieter Weening (Roompot – Charles) i Rémy Rochas (Delko Marseille Provence). Francuz Rochas jednak dość szybko nie wytrzymał tempa konkurentów.
Na zjeździe pięknie pojechał Weening, ale Portugalczyk odrobił dystans na płaskim. Dwójka na sześć kilometrów przed metą miała tylko 20 sekund przewagi nad peletonem.
Na ostatnim kilometrze na małej hopce na jeszcze jeden atak zdecydował się Weening, który zgubił Portugalczyka, a na linii mety był tuż przed peletonem!
Drugie miejsce wywalczył Eduard Michael Grosu (Delko Marseille Provence). Liderem pozostał Christophe Laporte (Cofidis, Solutions Crédits).
