Mistrz Holandii wygrał trzeci etap „domowego” wyścigu. Liderem pozostał Primoz Roglic (LottoNL-Jumbo).
Trzeci dzień ścigania w Ster ZLM Toer stał pod znakiem najdłuższego etapu wyścigu – 209.2km wokół Buchten. Trasa była dość płaska i faworytami byli sprinterzy.
Ucieczkę dnia utworzyło aż dziewięciu kolarzy: Jasper Hamelink (Metec TKH), Joey van Rhee (Destil – Jo Piels), Daan Soete (Telenet Fidea Lions), Robbert de Greef (Baby-Dump Cyclingteam), Mark McNally (Wanty-Groupe Gobert), Loic Chetout (Cofidis), Berden de Vries (Roompot-Nederlandse Loterij), Lukas Spengler (WB Veranclassic Aqua Protect) i Twan van der Brand (Destil – Jo Piels). Etap przebiegł bez większych historii, a peleton zdołał złapać większość harcowników około 35km przed metą.
Jedynie de Greef, McNally i Spengler utrzymywali się przed grupą. Po kilku kilometrach de Greef osłabł i z przodu została para McNally i Spengler. Peleton był jednak zbyt silny i dwójkowa akcja skończyła się 3km przed finiszem. Sprint został przerwany przez kraksę na ostatnim kilometrze, a ostatecznie najszybszy był Dylan Groenewegen (LottoNL-Jumbo). Mistrz Holandii powtórzył wczorajszy sukces wyprzedzając Andre Greipela (Lotto-Soudal) i Moreno Hoflanda (Lotto-Soudal). Liderem pozostał Primoz Roglic (LottoNL-Jumbo).
